Palamu isn't the first place that comes to mind when people think about spice manufacturing. Erode, Guntur, Kochi, maybe Delhi โ€” those are the names people associate with India's spice trade. Palamu, in Jharkhand, usually isn't on that list. That's exactly why I built Sanvi Heritage here.

Where I Started From

I'm Avinash Kumar Chaurasia, and I grew up watching how far good spices had to travel before they reached kitchens in this part of Jharkhand โ€” often through two or three layers of traders, each adding their own margin and, just as often, cutting corners on quality along the way. By the time a pack of turmeric or chilli powder reached a local kirana store here, nobody could really tell you where it came from, or whether what was written on the label matched what was inside.

Why Not Just Set Up Somewhere "Easier"

It would have been simpler, on paper, to set up a processing unit closer to the growing regions โ€” near Erode for turmeric, or near Guntur for chilli. But that would have meant becoming just another mid-sized processor competing on the same turf as everyone else. Building in Talapara, Chainpur, Palamu, meant something different: bringing genuinely well-sourced spices โ€” the same varieties, the same quality bar โ€” to a region that's historically been underserved by that kind of transparency, while still sourcing responsibly from the actual growing belts (Erode and Rajapuri for turmeric, Guntur for chilli, Unjha for cumin, Darbhanga for makhana) rather than pretending we grow everything ourselves.

What We Actually Do Differently

Every SKU we sell is registered โ€” FSSAI licensed (21125094000037), GST registered (20BPXPC9240M1ZJ), Udyam registered (UDYAM-JH-18-0022562) โ€” not because it's required, though it is, but because it's the baseline of being able to say "you can trust what's on this label." We built our Market Intelligence page for the same reason: if we're going to talk about where our spices come from, we should show you the actual mandi prices too, not just marketing language.

What Comes Next

Sanvi Heritage is starting small โ€” 10 SKUs across turmeric, red chilli, coriander, cumin, and makhana โ€” out of a facility here in Palamu. We're not trying to be the biggest spice brand in India. We're trying to be the one you trust the most, starting with the region that's closest to home. If you're a retailer, a distributor, or just someone who wants to know exactly where your spices come from, reach out โ€” my WhatsApp number is on every page of this site, and I mean that literally: +91 87926 93138.
